Omega Red, whose real name is Arkady Rossovich, is a Russian mutant supervillain from Marvel Comics. Originating from Siberia, he was a serial killer before being subjected to a Soviet super-soldier program during the Cold War.

This program granted him superhuman strength, speed, and stamina, along with retractable carbonadium tentacles emanating from his wrists. Carbonadium, a less stable variant of adamantium, is toxic to most living beings. These tentacles drain the life force of his victims, leaving them withered husks.

However, the process also required a stabilizing mutant factor, which he lacked, leading to a slow and agonizing death. He requires the "carbonadium synthesizer" to regulate the carbonadium in his body and survive. This device is often his primary motivation.

A frequent foe of the X-Men, particularly Wolverine (due to a shared history involving the carbonadium synthesizer), Omega Red is a ruthless and formidable opponent, constantly seeking to enhance his powers and eliminate anyone who stands in his way. He's often affiliated with Russian organized crime and other villainous groups.
