Biography:

Bardock, sometimes spelled Burdock, is a fictional character from the Dragon Ball Z franchise. He is a Saiyan warrior and the father of Goku (Kakarot) and Raditz.

Bardock is initially portrayed as a ruthless soldier in Frieza's army. However, he develops a sense of compassion after gaining the ability to see the future. This precognitive ability reveals Frieza's plan to destroy the Saiyan race.

Bardock's attempts to warn his fellow Saiyans are unsuccessful. He confronts Frieza in a desperate attempt to change the future, but is ultimately defeated and killed along with Planet Vegeta.

The character first appears in the Dragon Ball Z TV special, Bardock - The Father of Goku.
