Jessica Campbell Jones Cage, often simply known as Jessica Jones, is a fictional character appearing in the Marvel Netflix television series.
Portrayed by Krysten Ritter, Jones is a former superheroine struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder. Her first appearance in the Netflix Marvel Universe was in the first episode of Jessica Jones, originally released in November of 2015.
Haunted by her past, particularly her experiences under the mind control of Kilgrave, Jones attempts to rebuild her life as a private investigator in New York City. She possesses enhanced strength, durability, and limited flight abilities stemming from a childhood car accident involving radioactive materials.
