Kabuto Yakushi is a complex and morally ambiguous character from the Naruto series. Initially appearing as a loyal aide to Orochimaru, he possesses considerable medical ninjutsu skills and serves as a spy and information gatherer.

Orphaned and raised in a Konoha orphanage, Kabuto was unknowingly manipulated into becoming a double agent by Danzo Shimura. This early trauma significantly shaped his distrustful nature and willingness to serve powerful figures.

Kabuto is known for his analytical mind and strategic abilities, making him a valuable asset to Orochimaru. He diligently carries out Orochimaru's plans, often engaging in morally questionable experiments and battles.

Following Orochimaru's demise, Kabuto seeks to surpass his former master by delving deeper into forbidden techniques. He masters the Impure World Reincarnation (Edo Tensei), resurrecting powerful deceased shinobi to serve as his soldiers during the Fourth Great Ninja War.

During the war, Kabuto transforms himself into a Sage, absorbing Orochimaru's remains and refining his medical ninjutsu to nearly unparalleled levels. He is eventually defeated and redeemed through the Izanami technique, leading him to find his own path and contribute to the war effort against Madara Uchiha.
