Biography:

Scorpion is the alias of Mac Gargan, a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily as an enemy of Spider-Man. He first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #19 (December 1964).

Gargan was originally a private investigator hired by J. Jonah Jameson to uncover how Peter Parker was able to get such good pictures of Spider-Man. Jameson, frustrated with Gargan's failure, then turned to him as a potential subject for an experiment.

The experiment, conducted by Farley Stillwell, involved bonding Gargan to a suit that would grant him the abilities of a scorpion. While initially successful, the process drove Gargan insane, transforming him into the villainous Scorpion. He possesses superhuman strength, speed, and durability, as well as a prehensile mechanical tail capable of delivering powerful blows. His obsessive hatred for both Spider-Man and J. Jonah Jameson are defining characteristics.
