Hoshigaki Kisame is a prominent antagonist in the Naruto series, known for his immense chakra reserves and distinctive shark-like appearance, including blue skin, pointed teeth, and gill-like facial markings. He was originally a ninja from Kirigakure (the Hidden Mist Village).

Kisame was infamous for his brutal mission to protect information at all costs, which included killing his comrades to prevent leaks. This act led to his being branded a traitor and forced to flee the village.

He later joined the Akatsuki, a criminal organization comprised of powerful and dangerous ninja. Kisame was partnered with Itachi Uchiha, forming a formidable team. He wielded Samehada, a sentient sword that absorbs chakra rather than cutting with its blade. The sword also eventually merged with Kisame, further enhancing his shark-like abilities.

Known as the "Monster of the Hidden Mist," Kisame was a staunch believer in power and followed the philosophy of survival of the fittest. He ultimately met his demise in a clash against Might Guy, choosing to take his own life to prevent information from falling into enemy hands.
