Darth Maul is a menacing Sith Lord who first appeared in *Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace*.
He serves as the apprentice of Darth Sidious and is distinguished by his red and black tattooed skin, a fearsome visage inspired by the Zabrak species from Iridonia, and his mastery of a double-bladed lightsaber.
In *The Phantom Menace*, Darth Maul engages in a memorable lightsaber duel with Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, ultimately killing Qui-Gon before being defeated by Obi-Wan. Despite his apparent death, the character was later resurrected in *Star Wars: The Clone Wars* TV Show, revealing his survival and setting the stage for further appearances in *Star Wars Rebels* and *Solo: A Star Wars Story*.
