Biography:
Black Mask, also known as Roman Sionis, is a notorious Batman villain first appearing in Batman #386 (August 1985). He's characterized by his signature black skull mask, which he wears to conceal his disfigured face and represent his twisted persona.
Sionis, born into a wealthy and influential Gotham City family, inherited his father's cosmetic empire, Janus Cosmetics. However, his poor business decisions and reckless spending led to the company's downfall. Blaming Bruce Wayne and Wayne Enterprises for his misfortune, Sionis became consumed by hatred and vengeance.
After a series of events involving a fire in his office and the melting of his ebony mask to his face, Sionis embraced the identity of Black Mask. He became a ruthless crime lord, known for his sadistic tendencies and control over a vast network of criminals. His tactics often involve torture and psychological manipulation, making him a particularly dangerous foe for Batman.
