Biography:
Illyana Rasputina, codenamed Magik, is a mutant from Marvel Comics. She is the younger sister of the X-Man Colossus.
Born in the Ust-Ordynski Collective near Lake Baikal, Siberia, Illyana was kidnapped and taken to Limbo, a demonic dimension, at a young age. There, she was subjected to dark magic by the sorcerer Belasco.
During her time in Limbo, Illyana's mutant powers manifested: teleportation and the creation of "stepping discs" allowing travel through time and space. Belasco also corrupted her soul, transforming her into the Darkchild and making her a powerful sorceress.
Illyana eventually escaped Limbo, but retained her magical abilities and demonic appearance to varying degrees. She wields the Soulsword, forged from a piece of her soul, which disrupts magic and harms mystical beings.
Magik is a complex character, often struggling with the duality of her human and demonic natures. She has been a member of the New Mutants and other X-Men teams, fighting to protect mutants despite her dark past and potentially dangerous powers.
