Darth Malak was a powerful Dark Lord of the Sith who lived thousands of years before the events of the original Star Wars trilogy. He first appeared in the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Born Alek Squinquargesimus, he was a Jedi Knight who fought alongside Revan in the Mandalorian Wars. However, both he and Revan fell to the dark side of the Force after discovering a hidden Sith empire.
Malak became Revan's apprentice, embracing the Sith ideology. When Revan was betrayed and mind-wiped, Malak seized the opportunity to declare himself the new Dark Lord of the Sith. He launched a brutal campaign to conquer the Republic, wielding the power of the Star Forge, an ancient Rakatan superweapon.
He was eventually defeated and killed by a redeemed Revan, ending his reign of terror and paving the way for the Republic's survival. Malak's defining physical characteristic was his cybernetic jaw, a consequence of a battle with Revan.
