Dr. Fate is not typically associated with a "Team Wonder" in DC Comics. The character traditionally associated with Wonder Woman is Doctor Mystère, but he is not the same as Dr. Fate. Dr. Fate is a powerful sorcerer who has been the identity of many individuals throughout DC Comics history.
The original and arguably most famous Dr. Fate is Kent Nelson. Kent was a young archeologist who discovered the tomb of Nabu, an ancient Lord of Order. Nabu trained Kent in the mystical arts, gifting him with the Helmet of Fate, the Amulet of Anubis, and the Cloak of Destiny. These artifacts grant Dr. Fate immense magical abilities, including spellcasting, teleportation, invulnerability, and precognition.
The Helmet of Fate is the source of much of Dr. Fate's power but also presents a unique challenge. The Helmet houses the spirit of Nabu, who can influence and, in some instances, control the wearer. Therefore, Dr. Fate is often a merging of Kent Nelson's personality with Nabu's ancient wisdom and sometimes conflicting will. Several other characters have assumed the mantle of Dr. Fate throughout the years, each bringing their own perspective and relationship with Nabu to the role.
