Robert "Bobby" Drake, also known as Iceman, is a mutant character appearing in Marvel Comics. One of the original five X-Men, he possesses the power to lower his external and internal body temperature, allowing him to freeze moisture in the air and create structures of ice.

First appearing in X-Men #1 (1963), Bobby initially struggled to control his abilities. He was mentored by Professor Charles Xavier at the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters to develop his powers and use them for the benefit of humanity.

Over the years, Iceman's abilities have evolved significantly. He has moved from simply creating snowmen to being able to transform his entire body into organic ice. He is an Omega-level mutant, denoting virtually limitless potential.

Iceman's struggles with his identity have been a recurring theme throughout his comic book history. Later storylines revealed that he had been subconsciously suppressing his homosexuality for years, a revelation that added a new layer to the character and resonated with many readers.
