Kir Kanos was a member of Emperor Palpatine's Royal Guard, a highly elite unit sworn to protect the Emperor at all costs. He first appeared in the comic book series Crimson Empire #1 (December 1997).
Following the death of Palpatine at the Battle of Endor, Kanos remained fiercely loyal to the fallen Emperor's ideals. He believed that the Empire had been betrayed from within and dedicated himself to avenging Palpatine.
Kanos became a rogue agent, hunting down those he deemed responsible for the Empire's downfall, particularly Carnor Jax, another Royal Guard who had schemed to seize power. His skills and dedication made him a dangerous threat to the New Republic and the remnants of the Empire.
