Kir Kanos was a member of Emperor Palpatine's Royal Guard, a group of elite warriors fiercely loyal to the Emperor. He first appeared in the comic book series Star Wars: Crimson Empire #1 in 1997.
Kanos, alongside Carnor Jax, was among the best of the Royal Guard. However, Jax orchestrated a coup following Palpatine's death at the Battle of Endor, eliminating most of the Guard. Kanos survived and became a wanted fugitive, dedicated to avenging Palpatine and eliminating Jax.
Kanos's loyalty to the Emperor, even after his death, defined his character. He was a skilled warrior and tactician, relentlessly pursuing his goals even at great personal cost. He adopted various disguises and aliases during his quest for vengeance.
