Morty Smith is a central character in the animated TV show Rick and Morty, first appearing in the pilot episode "Pilot" on December 2, 2013.
He is the grandson of the eccentric and alcoholic scientist Rick Sanchez, and often accompanies Rick on his dangerous and outlandish adventures throughout the multiverse.
Morty is generally portrayed as an anxious, insecure, and easily manipulated teenager, often serving as the foil to Rick's cynical and nihilistic worldview. Despite his naivete, Morty occasionally displays surprising moments of courage and insight.
