Morty Smith is a central character in the animated TV show Rick and Morty. He first appeared in the show's pilot episode, "Pilot," which aired on December 2, 2013.
Morty is a somewhat dim-witted and easily frightened teenager. He is the grandson of Rick Sanchez, a brilliant but eccentric and alcoholic scientist. Morty is often unwillingly dragged along on Rick's dangerous and bizarre interdimensional adventures.
Despite his naiveté and anxieties, Morty occasionally displays surprising insight and bravery.
