Mega Man (also known as Rockman Dash in Japan) is the protagonist of the Mega Man Legends series, developed by Capcom. This iteration of Mega Man is distinct from the original Mega Man, existing in a separate continuity.
He first appeared in Mega Man Legends for the PlayStation in 1997. He is a Digger, a type of adventurer who explores ancient ruins in search of Refractors, sources of energy.
Mega Man is often accompanied by his sister Roll Caskett and grandfather Barrel Caskett, whom he considers his family. He battles the Bonne family, a group of air pirates, and unravels the mysteries of the ancient civilization that once thrived on Terra (the game's Earth).
