Dr. Kirk Langstrom is Man-Bat, a tragic figure from DC Comics. A brilliant zoologist specializing in bats, Langstrom became obsessed with understanding their sonar abilities.
Driven by a desire to enhance human hearing, he created a serum derived from bat DNA. Against his better judgement, Langstrom tested the serum on himself.
The results were horrifying: he transformed into a monstrous bat-like creature. While possessing enhanced strength, speed, and flight, he lost his human intellect and descended into a feral state. Kirk first appeared as Man-Bat in Detective Comics #400.
