Heimdall is a character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, primarily known for his role as the all-seeing and all-hearing gatekeeper of the Bifrost, the bridge connecting Asgard to other realms.
Portrayed by Idris Elba, Heimdall first appeared in the MCU in the movie *Thor* (2011). His abilities allowed him to perceive events across the cosmos and protect Asgard from intruders.
In *Thor: Ragnarok*, Heimdall takes on a more active role in defending the Asgardian people after Hela's arrival. He is ultimately killed by Thanos in *Avengers: Infinity War* while attempting to protect the Space Stone.
