Hope Summers is a significant character in Marvel Comics, notable for her connection to the mutant population. She first appeared in X-Men #205 (2008).
Born after the events of "M-Day" which decimated the mutant population, Hope was the first mutant born after that event. As such she became known as the "Mutant Messiah".
She was adopted by Cable (Nathan Summers), who raised her in the future, training her to control her powers and prepare for her role in mutantkind's destiny. Hope possesses the power to mimic and control the powers of other mutants, effectively becoming a conduit for mutant energy. She has been seen as both a savior and a threat, given the immense power she wields.
