Hope Summers, a character from Marvel Comics, first appeared in X-Men #205 (2008). She is a mutant born after the "M-Day" event, making her the first new mutant birth since the Scarlet Witch depowered almost all mutants.

This event made Hope a pivotal figure, as many saw her as the potential savior or destroyer of the mutant race. She possesses the power to mimic and control the abilities of other mutants nearby, making her extremely powerful.

As a child, she was raised by Cable (Nathan Summers), who travelled through time to protect her from those who sought to control or eliminate her. He became her adoptive father, training her in combat and survival skills.

Hope's arrival back in the present day instigated the "Second Coming" storyline, a major X-Men event. She eventually learned to control her powers, and her actions led to the restoration of the mutant population. She would later become a member of the mutant group Generation Hope.
