Biography:
Clara Oswald is a fictional character portrayed by Jenna Coleman in the long-running BBC science fiction television program Doctor Who. She is a companion to the Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors.
Clara is introduced in "Asylum of the Daleks" (2012) as Oswin Oswald, a brilliant computer programmer who is trapped inside a Dalek asylum. This version seemingly dies, but the Doctor encounters another version of her in "The Snowmen" (2012), this time as a Victorian governess named Clara Clayton. She also dies.
The mystery of how Clara exists in multiple incarnations is resolved when the Doctor discovers that she entered his timestream to save him from being undone by the Great Intelligence. These "echoes" of Clara are scattered throughout the Doctor's history, saving him time and again. The "original" Clara begins traveling with the Doctor full-time after the events of "The Name of the Doctor" (2013). During her time with the Doctor she has many adventures.
Clara eventually leaves the Doctor in "Hell Bent" (2015), effectively becoming immortal in a way and flying off in a TARDIS with Ashildr.
