Prince Adam is a fictional character and the alter ego of He-Man in the *Masters of the Universe* franchise. He first appeared in the 1983 *He-Man and the Masters of the Universe* cartoon.
By outward appearance, Adam is the seemingly lazy and somewhat clumsy prince of Eternia, son of King Randor and Queen Marlena. This persona is a carefully constructed facade to conceal his true identity.
When danger threatens Eternia, Adam raises his Power Sword and proclaims, "By the Power of Grayskull! I have the power!" He is then imbued with immense strength and transforms into He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, dedicated to defending Eternia from the evil forces of Skeletor.
