Gamora, portrayed by Zoe Saldana, is a key member of the Guardians of the Galaxy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). She first appears in the 2014 film, Guardians of the Galaxy.
Initially raised by Thanos after he wiped out half of her Zen-Whoberis people, Gamora was trained as a deadly assassin and served as his adopted daughter. She later turned against Thanos, seeking to prevent him from acquiring the Infinity Stones.
In the MCU timeline, Gamora dies on Vormir at the hands of Thanos, sacrificed to obtain the Soul Stone. However, a Gamora from an alternate timeline arrives in the main MCU timeline during the events of Avengers: Endgame. This version of Gamora, unfamiliar with the Guardians and lacking a romantic connection with Peter Quill, continues to play a role in subsequent Guardians adventures.
