Gamora, portrayed by Zoe Saldana in the MCU, is a pivotal character in the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
First appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), she is introduced as the adopted daughter of Thanos, who trained her to be a deadly assassin.
Initially working for Thanos, Gamora eventually defects, seeking to prevent him from acquiring the Infinity Stones and wielding their power. She joins the Guardians of the Galaxy, becoming a valued member of the team and developing a close relationship with Peter Quill (Star-Lord).
Tragically, Gamora is sacrificed by Thanos to obtain the Soul Stone in Avengers: Infinity War. However, a past version of Gamora is brought to the present timeline during the events of Avengers: Endgame, creating an alternate version of the character.
This alternate Gamora, while retaining her fighting skills, has no memory of her relationship with the Guardians. Her story continues in later MCU projects like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
