Pinhead is a central figure in the Hellraiser horror franchise. He first appeared in the 1987 film Hellraiser, directed by Clive Barker.
Originally a British soldier named Elliot Spencer, he transformed into a Cenobite after solving the Lament Configuration puzzle box. Cenobites are extra-dimensional beings who explore the extremes of sensation, both pleasure and pain.
