Pinhead is a central antagonist in the *Hellraiser* *Horror* franchise.
He first appeared in the *Movie* *Hellraiser* in 1987, portrayed by Doug Bradley. Pinhead is not his actual name but is a nickname given to him by crew of the first *Movie*.
The character is the leader of the Cenobites, extradimensional beings who inflict pain and pleasure on those who summon them through the Lament Configuration puzzle box. He is a former human who transformed into a Cenobite after opening the box himself. Pinhead is known for his calm demeanor, articulate speech, and iconic appearance: a pale face grid patterned with incisions and pins.
