Pinhead, also known as the Hell Priest, is a prominent figure in the Hellraiser horror franchise, originating from Clive Barker's novella, The Hellbound Heart. He is the leader of the Cenobites, extradimensional beings who inflict pain and pleasure in equal measure, blurring the lines between sadomasochism and religious experience.

Initially, Pinhead was portrayed as a more cerebral and articulate demon, a creature of order and logic despite his horrific practices. He and the Cenobites are summoned when someone solves the Lament Configuration, a puzzle box that opens a gateway to their realm.

Doug Bradley portrayed Pinhead in the first eight Hellraiser films, establishing the character's iconic look: a pale, scarred head adorned with pins arranged in a grid pattern. Subsequent actors have taken on the role, though Bradley's performance remains the definitive portrayal.

Pinhead's motivations are complex; he doesn't actively seek to harm the innocent, but rather sees himself as an explorer of extreme sensations, obligated to answer the call of the box. He represents the dangers of pursuing forbidden knowledge and the seductive nature of pain and pleasure.
