Biography:
Lando Calrissian (Bespin), first appearing in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980), is a complex character within the Original Trilogy.
He's introduced as the Baron Administrator of Cloud City, a tibanna gas mining colony in the atmosphere of Bespin. An old friend of Han Solo, Lando is initially portrayed as charming and suave, but also pragmatic and somewhat untrustworthy.
Forced into betraying Han and his companions to Darth Vader under duress, Lando experiences a change of heart. He ultimately aids in their escape, redeeming himself and joining the Rebel Alliance. He plays a pivotal role in the fight against the Empire in subsequent installments.
