Springtrap, also known as William Afton, is a central antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF) game franchise.
He first appears in Five Nights at Freddy's 3 as the sole animatronic threat. Springtrap is a decaying, springlock suit of a Bonnie-like rabbit animatronic.
Inside the suit is William Afton, a serial killer who murdered several children at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. He hid inside the suit to evade capture, but the springlocks malfunctioned, crushing him and trapping his corpse within. He is now haunted, and seeks revenge for the events that occurred to him.
