Springtrap is a primary antagonist in the *Five Nights at Freddy's* (FNAF) franchise. He first appears in *Five Nights at Freddy's 3*. Springtrap is the decayed and dilapidated form of a Bonnie the Rabbit animatronic suit. Crucially, he contains the reanimated corpse of William Afton, the series' main villain. Afton, in an attempt to hide from the spirits of the children he murdered, entered the Spring Bonnie suit. However, the suit's springlock mechanism malfunctioned, crushing and killing him. His body remained trapped within the suit for decades.
