Garfield "Gar" Logan, best known as Beast Boy, is a superhero appearing in DC Comics. He first appeared in Doom Patrol #99 (November 1965).

As a child, while on an expedition with his scientist parents in Africa, Gar contracted a rare disease called Sakutia. His parents attempted to cure him with an experimental serum which, while saving his life, gave him the ability to shapeshift into any animal he has seen or read about. This serum also turned his skin green.

Following the death of his parents, Gar was taken in by various guardians, eventually joining the Doom Patrol. Later, he became a core member of the Teen Titans, where he formed close bonds with other heroes like Robin, Raven, and Starfire. Beast Boy's cheerful personality and comedic relief often mask a deeper emotional pain stemming from his tragic past. His powers and energetic persona make him a popular and enduring character.
