Deathstorm is a villainous character within the DC universe, specifically tied to the Black Lantern Corps. This corrupted version of Firestorm emerges during the "BlackestNight" event. He made his first appearance in BlackestNight #.
In the storyline, when deceased heroes and villains are reanimated as BlackLanterns, Firestorm is among those resurrected. However, it's not simply the original Ronnie Raymond persona. Rather, Deathstorm is a twisted fusion of both Ronnie and Professor Martin Stein, now serving the will of Nekron, the embodiment of death.
As a BlackLantern, Deathstorm wields a black power ring, fueled by the power of death. He possesses the ability to manipulate matter on a subatomic level, similar to Firestorm's transmutation abilities, but now imbued with a necrotic and destructive energy. His goals are to extinguish life and recruit others into the BlackLanternCorps, posing a significant threat to the living heroes of the LanternCorps and beyond.
