Captain Armando Salazar is a fictional character from the *Pirates of the Caribbean* franchise. He is the main antagonist in the film *Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales* (2017).
Before his demise, Salazar was a ruthless Spanish Navy officer, known as "El Matador del Mar" (The Sea Butcher), who dedicated his life to hunting down pirates. He was particularly feared for his relentless pursuit and brutal methods.
He was eventually tricked and trapped in the Devil's Triangle by a young Jack Sparrow. After years of confinement, Salazar and his ghostly crew are freed and seek revenge on Sparrow, believing him to be responsible for their curse.
