Chato Santana, known as El Diablo, is a metahuman character appearing in the DC Extended Universe. He first appeared in the film Suicide Squad (2016).
A former gang member from Los Angeles, Santana possesses the power of pyrokinesis, allowing him to generate and control flames. He is initially reluctant to use his abilities due to the destructive consequences of his past actions, including accidentally killing his own family.
Forced to join the Suicide Squad, a team of incarcerated supervillains assembled for dangerous missions, El Diablo serves as the team's powerhouse. He is a complex character, torn between his desire for redemption and the violent nature of his powers. Ultimately, he sacrifices himself to defeat Incubus, saving the team and the city of Midway City.
