Biography:
Power Girl (Kara Zor-L), in the New 52 continuity, is an alternate universe version of Supergirl from Earth-2. She is the Kryptonian cousin of Kal-L (Superman of Earth-2), sent to Earth to escape their planet's destruction.
Her rocketship deviates from its intended course, causing her to arrive decades after Kal-L, and she struggles with memories fragmented due to the journey and a lack of connection. Upon her arrival she attempts to assimilate to earth as Karen Starr.
Originally believed dead after the events of Earth-2, she reappears later, retaining her powers and fighting alongside the survivors of Earth-2.
Unlike the original Power Girl, the New 52 version has a more difficult time connecting with others and has several personality defects which make her a difficult hero to work with. She initially retains a suit similar to the original but later changes it. Her powers mirror those of Superman, including flight, super strength, and heat vision.
