Psylocke, also known as Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock, is a Marvel Comics character primarily associated with the X-Men.
Her first appearance was in Captain Britain #8 (December 1976) as Betsy Braddock. She later joined the X-Men and underwent a significant transformation.
Originally a telepathic British mutant, Betsy's consciousness was transferred into the body of a Japanese ninja assassin. This resulted in a new Psylocke with enhanced physical abilities, martial arts skills, and retained telepathic powers. This version of the character is most recognizable for her signature psionic katana.
Psylocke is a complex character whose story involves body swapping, cultural identity, and grappling with the consequences of her powers and actions as an X-Men member.
