Haldir is a character within J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth legendarium, specifically within The Lord of the Rings. He is a Marchwarden, one of the Elves of Lórien.
He is first introduced in The Fellowship of the Ring, acting as a guide and protector to the Fellowship as they traverse the borders of Lothlórien. He is depicted as a noble and valiant warrior of the Galadhrim.
In Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, Haldir is portrayed by Craig Parker. In the films, his role is expanded slightly. His cinematic depiction includes the character leading a company of Elves to reinforce the defenders of Helm's Deep in The Two Towers. This expanded role deviates from the book.
