Jean Grey, a mutant with telepathic and telekinetic abilities, is a central figure in the X-Men universe. While she debuted as Marvel Girl in The X-Men #1 (1963), her evolution into the Phoenix, and subsequently the Dark Phoenix, is a complex and destructive transformation.
The Phoenix Force, a cosmic entity of immense power, bonds with Jean, amplifying her abilities to unimaginable levels. However, this power proves too overwhelming. In some versions, outside manipulation and Jean's own inner turmoil lead to the emergence of the Dark Phoenix.
