Eric Draven, resurrected as The Crow, is a fictional character from the independent comic book series, The Crow, created by James O'Barr. He first appeared in The Crow #1, published by Caliber Press in 1989.
Draven and his fiancée, Shelly Webster, are brutally murdered by a gang on Devil's Night. A year later, Eric rises from the grave, imbued with supernatural abilities by a crow, to avenge their deaths. He becomes a vengeful and relentless force, systematically hunting down and eliminating those responsible for the crime.
The Crow's powers include superhuman strength, speed, and agility, as well as invulnerability and the ability to heal from wounds. The crow acts as a guide and conduit for his powers, and Eric's life force is linked to it. If the crow is harmed, Eric is vulnerable.
