The Crow, primarily known through the 1994 film starring Brandon Lee as Eric Draven, originated as an independent comic book character.
Draven, a musician brutally murdered along with his fiancée Shelly Webster, is resurrected by a supernatural crow one year after their deaths. This resurrection grants him enhanced strength, invulnerability, and the ability to sense the presence of those who harmed him and Shelly.
Driven by vengeance, Eric, now embodying the Crow, systematically hunts down and eliminates the gang responsible for their deaths. He is aided by the crow, which acts as a guide and source of his powers.
Though not his first appearance in comic book form, Eric Draven as the Crow gained significant popularity through Brandon Lee's portrayal in the 1994 film *The Crow*.
