Hanamichi Sakuragi is the protagonist of the popular basketball-themed anime and manga series, Slam Dunk. He first appears in the initial episode/chapter of the series.
Initially a delinquent with a long history of unrequited love, Hanamichi joins the Shohoku High School basketball team in an attempt to impress Haruko Akagi, a girl he has a crush on.
