Biography:
Oberyn Martell, nicknamed the Red Viper, was a Prince of Dorne and a prominent character in HBO's Game of Thrones. He was known for his fiery temper, charismatic personality, and skill in combat.
Oberyn was the younger brother of Doran Martell, the ruling Prince of Dorne. He had eight bastard daughters, collectively known as the Sand Snakes, and a male paramour, Ellaria Sand.
Driven by a thirst for vengeance, Oberyn arrived in King's Landing to represent Dorne on the Small Council and to seek justice for his sister, Elia Martell, who was brutally murdered during the Sack of King's Landing years prior by Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane.
He volunteered to be Tyrion Lannister's champion in a trial by combat, facing Clegane himself. Despite initially dominating the fight, Oberyn was ultimately defeated and killed, becoming a memorable character due to his charisma and brutal demise.
