Buffy Summers is the protagonist of the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, portrayed by Sarah Michelle Gellar.
She first appeared in the 1992 movie *Buffy the Vampire Slayer*, although the TV series is a re-imagining of the original premise. As the Slayer, Buffy is chosen and imbued with superhuman strength, agility, and other abilities to fight vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness.
The series follows Buffy's life as she balances her Slayer duties with the challenges of high school and later, adulthood, alongside her friends, known as the "Scooby Gang," who assist her in her battles. Throughout the series, Buffy faces numerous powerful adversaries and grapples with the responsibilities and sacrifices that come with being the Slayer.
