Buffy Summers is the fictional protagonist of the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, created by Joss Whedon. Born in 1981 (show timeline) and raised in Los Angeles, Buffy's life took an unexpected turn when she was chosen as the Slayer, a young woman destined to fight vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness.

Her calling emerged in her teenage years, disrupting her normal life and forcing her to balance the responsibilities of a Slayer with the typical challenges of high school and relationships. After burning down her old high school, she moved to Sunnydale, California, a town situated on a Hellmouth, a focal point for supernatural activity.

Throughout the series, Buffy confronts numerous adversaries, including powerful vampires like the Master and Angelus, as well as the Mayor, Glory, and the First Evil.
