Guardian, primarily known as James MacDonald Hudson, is a prominent character within the Marvel Universe, notably associated with the Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight. He made his first appearance in The Uncanny X-Men #120 (April 1979).
Hudson, a brilliant scientist and engineer, designed a powerful battlesuit that grants him superhuman abilities. This suit allows him to generate and manipulate a force field, fly at high speeds, and withstand extreme conditions. He adopted the codename Guardian while serving as the leader of Alpha Flight.
Throughout his history, Hudson's relationship with Alpha Flight has been central to his character arc.
