A retired superhero, he is portrayed by Patrick Wilson in the 2009 film adaptation of *Watchmen*. In the film, he is a somewhat out-of-shape and nostalgic figure who yearns for his crime-fighting days. He is known for his Owlship, a technologically advanced aircraft he uses for patrol and combat.
The character first appeared in the *Watchmen* film in 2009.
