Nite Owl is a superhero identity utilized by two different characters in the Watchmen comic book series. The first, Hollis Mason, debuted in Watchmen #4 (1986). Mason was a member of the Minutemen, an earlier generation of costumed crimefighters. He retired in 1962 and wrote an autobiography, "Under the Hood."

The second Nite Owl, Daniel Dreiberg, is Mason's successor. Inspired by Mason's exploits, Dreiberg adopts the mantle and uses advanced technology, including the Owlship, to fight crime. He is portrayed as more introspective and less physically capable than his predecessor.
