Ashley Joanna "Ash" Williams is a character originating from the *Evil Dead* horror film franchise. His first appearance was in the 1981 film, *The Evil Dead*.
Initially portrayed as an ordinary college student, Ash transforms throughout the series into a wisecracking, chainsaw-wielding hero forced to battle demonic forces. He's characterized by his signature "Boomstick" (a sawed-off shotgun) and a prosthetic hand replacing the one he lost in *Evil Dead II*.
Ash's journey evolves from terrified survivor to reluctant savior. While often clumsy and egotistical, his resourcefulness and determination make him a formidable opponent against the Deadites.
