Dr. Dana Katherine Scully is a fictional FBI special agent and medical doctor, best known as one of the two protagonists in the science fiction TV show, The X-Files. She first appeared in the show's pilot episode, "Pilot," which aired on September 10, 1993.
Portrayed by Gillian Anderson, Scully is initially assigned to partner with Agent Fox Mulder to provide a scientific perspective on the X-Files, unsolved cases involving paranormal phenomena.
